Commonly, banks are open from 1000 till 1600. Banks are closed on Saturday and Sunday. There are twenty-four hour cash-points. Internet banking is also gaining in popularity and use.

Although the criteria for opening a bank account varies from bank to bank in Argentina, what follows is a general list of what you may need. For more details, contact one of the many Argentinean banks listed in our directories. Just click on the 'Banking in Argentina' tab, located above.

A document of identification and one copy of it.

Proof of residency, for instance a gas bill.

The initial deposit. To create an account in Argentinean Pesos, you will have to deposit a minimum of 10 Pesos. For a dollar account, the opening deposit is $500.

Annual maintenance costs of the account are ARS$6 for a peso account, and US$ 2 for a dollar account.
